WHAT’S IN FASHION

“What’s in fashion” is being connected to who we are, respecting our own feelings and making choices that we recognize as Beautiful, Good, and JUst.

WHAT’S IN FASHION

Concepts of “fashion” and “trend” from the dictionary, internet, and AI:

The word “fashion” refers to the currently popular style in clothing, accessories, makeup, design, behavior, and lifestyle. It is a dynamic and constantly evolving concept that reflects the aesthetic preferences of a society or group at a given time. Furthermore, fashion is not limited to clothing alone, but also encompasses trends in beauty, interior design, music, and other cultural and social areas.

In a broader sense, fashion can be seen as an expression of personal and collective identity, reflecting not only aesthetic taste but also cultural, historical, and social influences. It involves both the creation of new trends and the reinterpretation of past styles, often influenced by designers, celebrities, media, digital influencers, and cultural movements.

Therefore, “fashion” is more than simply following what is popular; it is a complex phenomenon that reflects the complexities of society, its values, and its changes over time.

“Trend” refers to a general direction or inclination in which something is moving or developing.

Some trends may be fleeting, while others may become more lasting and incorporated into mainstream style for a longer period. Observing and forecasting trends is important for the fashion industry, influencing both designers and consumers in the creation and choice of new products.

In short, “trend” describes the predominant direction or movement in something specific, whether in fashion, culture, technology, or any other domain of contemporary life.

I, Juliana Daltin, after more than 26 years working in this design sector, asked myself what conception I really have about what it means to “Be in Fashion”?

In my way of living and feeling, fashion can coincide with current trends, but it’s not necessarily linked to having to follow and adopt styles that are currently popular and in vogue.

It is essential to choose and adapt styles that align with one’s own taste and personality, incorporating elements that are relevant and complementary to one’s personal style.

For example, I can make “sustainable” choices, which is one of the trendy topics and corresponds to what I feel is right, but I don’t feel good listening to “Trap music“.

There are things and values that are universal, others cultural, and others personal. I am unique, every human being is a unique being, and therefore I can only “feel good” when I find what is “in my style,” in “the style that suits me,” when I find what fits perfectly with me, with my feelings, with my body type, with the environment I am in, and with the moment I am experiencing.

Instead of looking “outward,” I always try to look “inward” and feel what truly resonates with me, whether aesthetically or ethically, regardless of “fashion.”

In short, for me, “what is fashionable” is being connected with who I am, respecting my feelings and making choices that I recognize as Beautiful, Noble, Virtuous, Good and Fair.
